"Emancipated Shadows"

Ron Kinard (c) 2002

nightlife scatter as

the gentile fingers of the sun

tenderly pull away

the blanket of darkness covering

our beloved, Mother Earth

behold, a song in the air

sweetly serenading the world

stirring every living thing into consciousness

nothing to fear

the black of night replaced by

the light of day

the world aglow with

life and color

sounds filling the air

no reason to fear

no place to hide

creatures seeking their dens

nightlife ceases for another day

hidden in plain sight

running from the light

emancipated shadows

isn't it amazing what a little light and shadow can produce?
